Our Journey and Inspiration

Heidi Giasson and Leslie Farrin founded MyO2 Health after discovering firsthand how myofunctional therapy could transform lives. Their experiences with this therapy not only improved their health and well-being but also fueled their desire to share its benefits with others. Together, they offer a compassionate and holistic approach to treatment.

Heidi Giasson,  Myofunctional Therapist

Heidi Giasson, a registered dental hygienist since 2001, has specialized in holistic dentistry. She has been instrumental in launching several dental practices, including those focused on general dentistry, airway health, and myofunctional therapy. Her contributions have been pivotal in developing operational systems and supporting the growth of these practices.

In 2013, Heidi advocated for myofunctional therapy before the Maine dental board, cementing her commitment to prioritizing airway health. In the fall of 2022 Heidi founded a medical professional study group that meets once a month, with over 60 medical providers, from all fields, focusing on collaboration and helping our patients achieve optimum health.

Passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration, Heidi strives to enhance patient care by uniting medical fields. Residing in Windham with her family, she enjoys meditating, mindfulness, and being in nature whenever possible.

Leslie Farrin, Myofunctional Therapist

Leslie, a dedicated dental hygienist with a professional journey that began in 2007 after graduating from The University of New England. Leslie's passion towards patient education and helping patients recognize and understand the root causes is what led her towards full body health dentistry and myofunctional therapy.

As a mother of two daughters, both born and impacted by tethered oral tissues, Leslie's personal experiences motivated her to delve further into myofunctional therapy. This additional education empowered her to develop a myofunctional therapy program within a general dental practice at that time. She now is the co-founder of MyO2 Health, and works alongside Heidi and two other medical providers running an airway focused medical study group. Her passion and knowledge for treating growth and development, proper oral function and airway health is what makes her exceptional in her field.

Leslie and her husband Clayton have two daughters, Scarlett and Vivian, son Braden and yellow lab Cooper.

Together at MyO2 Health, Heidi and Leslie combine their expertise and personal experiences to empower individuals and families on their journey to better health through myofunctional therapy.

Patient Success Stories

"Myofunctional Therapy was not something that was on my radar a year ago. In fact, it wasn’t anything I’d ever heard of before. At the suggestion of my dental hygienist, I decided to speak with Heidi and get an initial evaluation. Heidi took the time to educate me on the benefits of myofunctional therapy and what potential outcomes could potentially look like for me. Over the past few years, I had been experiencing increased snoring, morning dry mouth, decreased energy during the day, awakening multiple times at night, neck and back soreness, and other progressively bothersome symptoms that, in my mind, a forty-two year old should not be battling with. Although the sleep study that I had previously completed did not indicate that I experienced sleep apnea, I still wanted answers, change, and a path forward. Heidi proposed a plan that made sense to me. She was incredibly knowledgeable on a variety of aspects of overall wellness, and her lovely demeanor and positive attitude are infectious. Meetings with Heidi are a gift, and I always felt that she was listening to my concerns. She thoroughly explained all of the exercises and therapies, and made additional suggestions that have also proved worthwhile to me. I felt like Heidi looked at me as a whole person, and the treatment plan that she proposed took into account all of my concerns. She is a true professional and her expertise on wellness is a breath of fresh air. Having Heidi’s guidance, while following the plan that she carefully laid out for me, has made a world of difference. I still have work to do, but no longer feel like I don’t have options. I am snoring a lot less, not waking up with dry mouth, my energy level during the day has increased, some nights I do not get up at all, my posture is improving which is reducing neck and back pain, and overall I feel like I am becoming a more aware, healthier, and happier version of myself. The time spent with Heidi has been a worthwhile investment in ME!"

"Game Changer. Game changer doesn’t even begin to describe the impact that MyO2 Health has had on my life. When I first met Heidi at a dental conference, she engaged me in a conversation and I realized that she is a lifelong learner on a quest for making sure each person she meets is in a better place after you work with her. After a short screening in a hotel lobby, I realized that the anxiety, stomach aches, difficulty sleeping, and a list of other symptoms were all because I wasn't breathing well. In fact, I was in my mid-thirties and had tongue tie.

Heidi, coached me through myofunctional therapy, a tongue tie release, and a process to regain myself. She helped me feel better than I could have even dreamed of. If you are wondering what you can do with a chopstick, rubber tub, and some tape, I can tell yo0u with confidence Heidi will use those things to change your life. I hope that you will explore and learn from MyO2!"

"Our experience with Leslie and Myofunctional Therapy has been amazing. Our 9 year old son was diagnosed with Apraxia of speech at 5 years old after years of speech therapy. He never actually fit the mold for that diagnosis and we have continually worked to find different therapies and solutions to piece together a whole health puzzle. Leslie and the therapy she provides have been so much more than one piece of the puzzle. Myofunctional Therapy has turned years of hardwork and dedication into a beautiful masterpiece! Our son has had huge gains in speech since beginning therapy. He has also has much less stomach discomfort from gas and calmer more restful nights. Leslie’s approach to therapy is fun and light. She is very engaging and motivating. She explains the entire anatomy and the importance of having it function correctly alongside therapy so that each session, each effort make sense. I have been to almost every therapy available for children who aren’t typical and Leslie is hands down one of the absolute best providers we have worked with. We are forever grateful for her support, kindness and extensive knowledge."
